The Golden Pears....(in Oregon & Idaho!)....

.... (on absorbent ground that is) were a big hit!
While in Oregon, I taught a group of ladies how to paint pears on a different medium, absorbent ground, all while mixing in other media, including gold leaf.

Then they all looked so professional on the cradled wood boards....!

Now.....the results from the Idaho Gold Leaf Pears workshop...
On May 21st at my studio in Star, Idaho, I taught the same class to a wonderful group of ladies who also did a fantastic job, quickly picking up on the secrets of painting the curves of pears.  The gold leaf makes them so fun.

                                       I love how these always turn out so different!

Results of the IWS Regional Rose Workshop...

In Idaho Falls, I taught a group of ladies from the Idaho Watercolor Society over in that region, to paint one of the many roses I have up my sleeve: the Rose on Aquabord!

What a beautiful job these ladies did.  Aquabord can be a challenge, but we all had such a good time. 

An Update: The 8th Annual National Juried Show in Idaho Falls...

I am honored to be one of the artists chosen for the Idaho Falls Arts Council 8th Annual National Juried Exhibition!  

The show runs from March 17th through June 12th at the Hall & Carr Gallery in Idaho Falls, ID.

Back to Back Yupo Floral Workshops in Idaho!

While I was back home for a moment in Star, Idaho, I taught two Yupo floral workshops...

one on February 27th.....

and since it was so popular, one the *next* weekend, on March 5th!

Everyone did an amazing job and I love how different each one turns out!

Two More Successful Workshops in Oregon...

It is nearing the end of February, and while in Tualatin, Oregon, I had fun teaching two very different workshops: One was the ever-popular Terrific Tulips workshop....

We painted the tulips, then will attach them to wooden cradled boards for a professional, finished look.

Beautiful results, ladies!  Now remember to finish it up at home.... :)

The other was a totally different, new workshop titled "Can This Painting Be Saved??"  Quite often, the answer to that question is, "Yes!"

In this particular workshop, it was fascinating to see the dramatic differences from the original abandoned painting, to the finished work of art!

...and after!  Amazing.

One artist commented:  "I enjoyed seeing all the paintings come in that needed fixing. I wondered if they could be!  In one day I saw not only mine saved but watched all the others too and learned new ideas as I saw them turn into great paintings. I would take this workshop again!"
